         Kiko Meat Goats
We are a very small goat ranch located in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest.  We started out in September of 2007 with a Boer Cross wether and his pregnant mother, we got them to eat the brush in our yard.  Our Doe gave birth to triplets 4 months later and that was it for me... I absolutely love goat kids, they are so adorable.
After raising a few Boer we became more interested in raising meat goats.  We thought we should do some research on them and while researching I came across the Kiko breed from New Zeland.  I read many interesting things about the Kiko that many refered to as the "HARDY MEAT GOAT".  After months of research we decided to purchase a small herd of Kiko from Half Creek Farm in Bickleton, WA.  We drove to Bickleton on what seemed to be the hottest day of the Summer, July of 2009 to pick up our little kids.  We started out with one Herdsire~ Galaxy (3-2009), one yearling doe~ Luna (6-2008), and 3 kiko doelings~ Aurora (1-2009), Eclipse (3-2009), Starlight (4-2009), and one Genemaster doeling~ Andromeda (3-2009)  after one year with KIKO and Boer... we sold the Boer and we could not be happier with our KIKO!
On October 9, 2010 I attended the Kiko WestFest in Auburn, CA to pick up a 100% New Zealand Kiko buckling that we purchased and had him shipped to meet me there~ ZNK Iron Side's Matariki, out of Oklahoma.  While at the Kiko WestFest the opportunity came up for us to purchase 2 New Zealand Does from Heaven's Gate Goat Ranch so we decided to add them to our herd as well.  We are not sure where we will go from here, only time will tell.

The KIKO ADVANTAGE...
The Kiko meat goat was developed from feral goats of New Zealand for their hardiness with controlled infusion of Dairy goat genetics for their body size and better milk production. Kiko usually have their kids in the pasture or woods, get them up and feed without intervention and raise them to weaning.
Multiple independent University studies show~ Greater Kiko kid survival and more pounds of kids at weaning per doe.  If you are tired of fighting parasites all summer and getting up all night during kidding season and if you want increased profits with decreased management~
